WIP "Not Yet" Painting

I've been working on this since September, I think it'll be finished soon...
Acrylic paint for first layers, now I am adding oils. The sky has changed since I took this picture.

Welcome to my world

Some ink sketches for potential paintings:

Filtered Reality

I enjoy drawing from life as I look through my special lenses :) Although, my vision is still good nor do I wear glasses:

Sketch for a Painting

A drawing for a 12"x12" painting.

NYC 6 Train, Metal Flowers, Journey to (no)Where

I got a smoother paper sketchbook.

The Journey Begins with NYC Subway

As I've said in the previous post, when you ride the train every day, it becomes a huge huge part of your life (stating the obvious?), and really effects...something. This is how I like to see it, though:

I would like to make some 5"x7" paintings from them. I prefer sketches, rather than painting from photos, because a photo can deaden the fantasy feeling as I'll can get obsessively into realistic likeness.
I'm definately painting this one - a girl escaping a picture bringing a star and a sun-like ball with her, and is still somewhat transparent:

And lastly, a tree growing, and strangers with a story...

About

I ride the New York City subway two hours per most days. Sometimes I look forward to getting in the train, getting a seat, and sketching away. Some moods call for more complete drawings, others more sloppy. As a perfectionist, it is good to free myself of that task to be awesomely amazing, and a shaky train and limited time is a good excuse when it gets too sloppy or I can't hit the exact spot with my pencil.

I like to introduce nature elements into man-made reality of New York City, adding thoughtfulness to the isolated, bored, and tired faces, and "surrealizing" the surroundings. Sometimes I just want to indulge in my own fantasy world, other days my imaginary world shuts its door on me and I am forced to be here. In cases as these, when nothing inspires me, I draw my inner feelings, not very enjoyable to be in touch with most of them, but I must must must always have an instrument for visual creativity in my left hand (pencil or paintbrush).

In these sketchbooks, I prefer to use colored pencil, and unlike my detailed and colorful miniatures, I usually hold just 4 or 5 of them. I hate graphite as it smudges and gets a glare. Pen and ink is good on days of confidence.

Enjoy the journey as I will keep this fun activity updated for you.
